MUCH to Discover at Mida Creek is a NMK Maritime and Underwater Cultural Heritage (MUCH) funded by Rising from the Depths Network. We have been working with Bidii na Kazi women group and other local communities to identify Maritime and Underwater Cultural Heritage in Mida Creek, Malindi in Kilfi County. The objective being to protect this heritage and research on how to use it to create community economic development.
The project has generated several community economic development initiatives that utilize MUCH. Together with Documentary Institute of East Africa and Bidii na Kazi women group, we have created a website showing how local communities are using marine heritage to create local benefits.
